The replica is checked against the statement's own arithmetic.
Every balance has to equal the one below it plus that row's amount. An import that cannot close that chain is rejected, and shows you the rows that did not add up.
- Edit a transaction and every later balance follows.
- Money is held in integer pence, so nothing drifts.
- Printed output lands on the original's columns.
